South Lake Tahoe, CA

plan your stay

Check-in and kick-off events for the OMNI Tahoe Yoga Festival begin Friday, September 12 at OMNI Tahoe, and the main festival takes place Saturday and Sunday, September 13–14 at the top of the Heavenly Gondola. Whether you're coming in early to ease into the weekend or staying longer to enjoy Tahoe’s beauty, this guide has everything you need to plan your trip.

Here’s how to plan your stay:

The festival will be held at Heavenly Ski Resort, accessed via the Heavenly Gondola, located at 4080 Lake Tahoe Blvd, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. Once you’ve loaded the gondola, you’ll find two main stages: Blue Sky Terrace at the mid-station and Tamarack Lodge at the top. Between them, we’ve created a serene outdoor tented speaker space where you can unwind and connect throughout the day.

To check in early and skip the Saturday morning rush, join us for our Kick-Off Event at OMNI Tahoe, located at 1029 Takela Dr, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.
This Friday evening gathering runs from 3–7 PM on September 12 and includes early check-in, community vibes, and light offerings to welcome you into the weekend.

If you're checking in on Saturday, plan to arrive at Heavenly Village between 8:30–9:00 AM to check in and load the gondola by 9:00 AM.

On Sunday, check-in runs from 8:00–8:30 AM, with gondola loading beginning right afterward at 8:30 AM.

getting to tahoe

by car

South Lake Tahoe is easily accessible by car. It’s about an hour from Reno, two hours from Sacramento, and roughly three and a half to four hours from the Bay Area. We recommend arriving early and carpooling whenever possible. If you plan to attend festival activities at the top of the gondola, be sure your festival pass includes gondola access or bring a Heavenly season pass.

by air

Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) is the closest option, located just over an hour from South Lake Tahoe. It offers car rentals, access to rideshare services, and the South Tahoe Airporter shuttle, which drops off near Stateline. Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is another great option, about two hours away, with a wider range of airlines and flight times. Car rentals are available onsite, and private shuttles or van services can be arranged in advance.

by bus

If you prefer not to drive, the South Tahoe Airporter offers direct shuttle service from Reno to Stateline. FlixBus and Amtrak also serve the Tahoe area, and once you're in town, Lake Link  provides free on-demand shuttle service in select South Shore neighborhoods. Rideshares and local taxi services are available but can be limited, especially during busy weekends—so we recommend planning transportation ahead of time.

camping/ rv

Prefer something more outdoorsy?  There are several excellent campgrounds and RV parks nearby. Campground by the Lake, Camp Richardson, Fallen Leaf Lake Campground, and Zephyr Cove Resort are great options for those looking to stay close to nature.   Sites fill up quickly in the fall, so reserve as soon as possible if you plan to camp.

parking, shuttles & transit

We highly recommend carpooling or using alternate transportation for festival days, as parking near the gondola can be limited.

Lake Link, South Lake Tahoe’s free microtransit service, is a convenient and eco-friendly option.

If you're biking in, reserve early with one of our favorite local shops:

There is paid parking available in the Heavenly Village Parking Garage on Bellamy Court and in lots behind the Raley’s shopping center. Please do not park in the Raley’s lot itself—you will be ticketed after two hours. Additional paid and street parking is also available across the street from the Heavenly Village.

From Highway 50, take Heavenly Village Way to Bellamy Court to access both garage and street parking. There is also more paid parking behind the Village Shopping Center across Heavenly Village Way.
