I am first and foremost a student. I started practicing yoga 15 years ago to cope with the knee injuries I sustained while playing competitive soccer. I also developed a serious breathing disorder that mimicked the effects of asthma and was constantly suffering breathing attacks. I tried all the medications and procedures that doctors prescribed, which made it manageable but didn’t help completely.
At age 12 I took my first yoga class. I immediately fell in love with the physical practice as well as the pranayama work. l learned to control my breath and not let it control me. When I was 20, I was in a serious car accident that left me questioning my purpose. My yoga practice was the only thing that brought me healing- moving my body with my breath made me feel alive again. In December 2021 I graduated from Soulpreneur Yoga with a 200-hour YTT certification and continued onto the mentorship program where I taught weekly karma classes and developed my skills as an effective teacher.
My ultimate goal as a teacher is to show my students that they can break through their perceived limits. To show you can better yourself every day by doing the little things so they can do the big things. Gain confidence and strength through that and take that into the word and inspire others to do the same.
