Get back to basics with this class designed as an introduction to the practice of yoga.
Learn the correct alignment of postures, before easing your body into our more challenging classes. Develop the foundations needed to prevent injury as you grow your practice.
Modifications and props are provided along with the opportunity to converse and practice at your own pace.

What is 12 Step Yoga? 

Millions of people from all over the world suffer from various afflictions, such as alcoholism, drug addiction, over/under eating, obsessive thinking, relationship issues with family or romantic partners (and many more). These people have found a great deal of relief from working a 12 Step program. 

Yoga philosophy and the 12 Steps have much in common. The principles practiced within the 12 Steps encourage practitioners to think and act with honesty, integrity, faith and courage. Similarly the Yamas and Niyamas from yoga philosophy encourage practitioners to act without harming others in thought or action, to think, speak and act with a truthful purpose, and to live a disciplined life (to name just a few). 

When we practice 12 Step Yoga, we work on integrating both yogic philosophy and the principles of the 12 Steps into a symbiotic practice to help guide the practitioner into living a more fruitful and healthy life of substance and discipline - in a explorative and fun way! 

Anyone who may be (or has in the past) - or anyone who knows someone struggling with addiction - is absolutely welcome to join! We have FUN in 12 Step Yoga! It’s an open, inclusive environment where you have the opportunity to become a more refined version of yourself and step further into your true nature, all while spending time with like minded people!
